Our house in the middle of the ...

Today we entered the final stages of the bidding process... And its looks like one party doesnt like the used car sales man technique and prefer to have a bit more time to think. I reckon that this is due to being from Paris.... However, they can think a lot but Tuesday end of the day we will sign the papers at the notaire which will give them a max of 7 days to do something about it or else..... they loose out!

Obviously this has been interesting pricewise for me but sometimes you need to take a decision and act upon it cos when looking for the big cheque you might end up with no cheque at all!
Coming from a Dutchman I have to admit, this might sound strange but knowing the legal works in France it is very important to have the right buyer. In terms of the backing of his bank, his job profile and the eagerness to purchase are all conditions that make him or her a serious candidate.

Looking back at the whole selling process I have to say it was interesting and I learnt a lot about the ways of working of French Real Estate agents. It is obvious that with the right attitude and follow up (read anglo saxon way) you will succeed far better than the majority of agencies that are cluttered through Nice. Just for the record, one of the agents, a very prestigious one, has the house displayed in the etalage close to the most expensive hotels of Nice. A very good place to target potential buyers however I just saw that they made a mistake and prices the house at 920.000 pound, which is a slight bit more expensive than I asked for. But a very clear reason why they didnt really have any candidates.

Anyway, the weekend is around the corner, next week will be very important, fingers crossed and watch this space for more news.
